Installing Smart Door Devices And Closed-circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras

You do not need to seek approval from HDB if you wish to install smart door devices such as smart door viewers and smart doorbells, or standalone closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in your flat.

Smart door devices are typically installed at a flat’s main entrance door. HDB permits the installation of these devices, as they provide useful functions such as remote opening of the main entrance door for guests, or communication with visitors or delivery persons via the device.

When installing standalone CCTV cameras which are not smart door devices within your flat, ensure that they do not face the door or windows of another flat. You should not install CCTV cameras on the building façade.

If you wish to install CCTV cameras outside of your flat, such as along the common corridor, approach your managing Town Council for advice.
