Under the Lively Places Challenge 2020, a team of students from Singapore Polytechnic engaged Punggol residents in a virtual hand sanitiser holder-making workshop to promote the importance of personal hygiene and to show how everyday items can be recycled into eco-friendly DIY crafts, with the completed hand sanitiser holders gifted to the seniors in a Senior Activity Centre.
Find out how you can transform recycled fabrics into a unique hand sanitiser holder to remind ourselves to keep our hands germ-free on the go!
Cut out the smallest rectangle as the strip
Cut out the circle
Glue both sides of the cloth evenly
Fold the cloth into half and let it dry for 3 to 5 mins
Glue the loop side of the velcro onto one end of the strip
Glue about 2cm of the strip onto one end of the holder (ensure the glue on both sides of the holder are dried)
Glue the hook side of the velcro and stick it onto the holder
Trim the sides
Your eco-friendly DIY hand sanitiser holder is done!
