Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS)

The Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) was first introduced in August 1995, as part of HDB’s overall efforts to rejuvenate old HDB estates and create a new and improved living environment for residents. It optimises land use, while offering residents the opportunity to move to a brand new home with better design, modern facilities, and a fresh 99-year lease.

SERS involves compulsory acquisition and is highly selective. There are currently no plans for more SERS projects as most of the projects with high redevelopment potential have already been selected.
