About Us
We will provide a safer and more comfortable environment for our residents to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle. This entails enhancing the facilities within our estates to offer a varied selection of exercise equipment and features to encourage more types of exercises.
Jurong Spring Playfield
The improved selection of fitness equipment can be used to work different muscle groups. One example is this project at Jurong Spring Playfield that was completed under the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) in tandem with SportSG’s Sport-in-Precinct Programme (SIP).
Tampines St 42
This project under the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) will feature new and exciting obstacle courses and multi-generational fitness stations with equipment suitable for youths, adults and seniors.
Street furniture with exercise elements will be introduced in our upcoming housing projects for residents to carry out simple exercises more conveniently.
We will also design staircases in a way that encourages users to take the stairs and complement it with creative signage.
Where site conditions permit, fitness equipment will be placed at strategic locations along main footpaths or jogging tacks to facilitate circuit training exercises.
A safe environment is important to support active lifestyles. We will enhance safety in homes by providing grab bars with better colour contrast and facilitate way-finding around the estate by using large letterings and visuals cues on signage.
Dementia-Friendly Features
Dementia-friendly features can be incorporated in the design of developments, in particular those co-located with eldercare facilities. For example, adopting simple looped paths in parks to help people with dementia navigate, and enjoy the park experience.
