Buying a resale flat - May 2023

As a salesperson, you should:

Guide your buyer-clients to apply for an HFE letter.
Assist them in their financial planning and application for a housing loan (if required).
Look for a suitable flat that meets your client's budget and needs. You may browse resale flat listings on the HDB Flat Portal.
Consider getting your clients to appoint you on the HDB Flat Portal, so you may assist them with their flat purchase. You may refer to our user guide for salespersons for more details.
- If you are the Managing Salesperson, you may save, edit and load your clients' search profile, edit and compare favourited flats, edit notification frequency and request viewing appointments.
- If you are the Co-managing Salesperson, you can view and load your clients' search profile, view and compare favourited flats, and request viewing appointments.
Use our Resale Flat Prices e-Service, HDB Map and data on resale statistics to advise your clients on the recent transacted prices and assist them in price negotiation with the sellers.
Go through the important notes of the Option to Purchase and explain the clauses to your clients. Ensure that your clients understand the clauses before they enter into the contract and commit to the flat purchase.
Assist your clients to submit the resale application through the HDB Flat Portal or Estate Agent Toolkit (if your agency is a subscriber), and adhere to the timeframe given. You should also assist your clients in the preparation and timely submission of documents to HDB in order not to delay the resale transaction.
Guide your clients on the requirements and things to prepare before attending the resale completion appointment.
Lastly, advise your clients on the conditions after buying a resale flat.
