A1 You can get more information on the HDB Flat Portal. The details such as estimated completion dates and pricing of new flats will be available only during each sales launch.

Q2 How do I apply for a flat from HDB?
A2 All home buyers must first obtain an HFE letter, which will be valid for 9 months from the date of issue. With a valid HFE letter, you can then apply for a flat online at the HDB Flat Portal during the application period of a Build-To-Order (BTO) or Sales of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise, or open booking of flats. An administrative fee of $10 (inclusive of GST) per application is payable by credit card (MasterCard/Visa) or scanning the QR code using any supporting mobile payment apps.

Q3 What are the documents required when I apply for a flat?
A3 Other than a valid HFE letter, you do not need to submit any documents when submitting a flat application. We will inform you of any documents required, if you are shortlisted in the computer ballot and invited to book a flat.

Q4 Where can I view the status of my new flat application?
A4 The HDB Flat Portal provides a step-by-step guide on your flat buying journey. Please log in to the HDB Flat Portal > My Flat Dashboard > I am a new flat buyer to view the status of your flat application and follow the steps for your flat buying journey.

Q5 I am interested in more than 1 town or more than 1 flat type. Can I submit more than 1 application in a sales launch?
A5 No. You may only submit 1 application for 1 town and flat type in a sales launch. During a sales launch comprising a BTO exercise and an SBF exercise, you may either apply for the BTO exercise or the SBF exercise, and not both exercises.

Q6 Can I make changes to my flat application?
A6 The changes you can make and the period during which you can make them depend on your flat application stage.

To amend your correspondence address, contact details, and priority scheme (if applicable), submit a request via MyRequest@HDB > Buying a new flat > Enter your sales registration number > Select the relevant option on the changes to be made. Note that amendments to your priority scheme can only be made during the flat application period.

However, if you wish to change the town or flat type you applied for, you must cancel your existing flat application and reapply online during the application period with the payment of an administrative fee of $10 (inclusive of GST).

For any changes in household particulars or financial circumstances, such as income, you must cancel both your HFE letter and flat application, and re-start Step 1 of the HFE letter application (the Preliminary HFE check). Please note that the 'Apply for HFE Letter' e-Service will be unavailable during the flat application period. The e-Service will resume after the flat application period. Hence, you will not be able to apply for a flat in the ongoing sales exercise.

After flat application period

You cannot change the town/ flat type you applied for. As for the correspondence address or other contact details, you may login to the HDB Flat Portal to make the changes.

If there are any changes to your household particulars or financial circumstances, please contact us via MyRequest. If the changes render you ineligible to continue with the flat purchase, your flat application will be cancelled. The usual financial forfeitures and consequences for the cancellation will apply, depending on the stage of the application at the time of the cancellation.

Q7 I have a balloted queue number for my earlier flat application but have yet to book a flat. Can I apply for a flat in the current sales exercise and subsequent ones?
A7 You may apply for a flat in another sales exercise as long as you did not receive a queue position within the flat supply in your earlier flat application(s) and have not booked a flat. Once you have booked a flat, your other flat applications will be automatically cancelled.

We strongly encourage applicants to book a flat at the first available opportunity. Those who do not do so may lose their first-timer benefits and/ or be restricted from applying in future sales launches.

Q8 I have booked a flat from an earlier sales exercise. Can I still apply for another flat in the current and subsequent sales exercises?
A8 No. You cannot do so unless you cancel the application for the booked flat. Upon cancellation of the application, the usual financial forfeiture and consequences for the cancellation will apply. If you wish to proceed with the cancellation, please submit the request via MyRequest@HDB > Buying a new flat > Enter your sales registration number > Select the relevant option on the changes to make.

Q9 How can I cancel my flat application? Will there be any penalty?
A9 Please note that once a flat application is cancelled, it cannot be reinstated. To cancel your flat application:

Q10 Why is my flat application cancelled?
A10 You must remain eligible throughout the entire process to buy a flat. If you become ineligible, such as due to a change in household composition from divorce, we will cancel your flat application.
