A Qualified Person (QP) must be engaged to certify the lateral loading in such replacement works. Building Control Regulations require that your engaged QP must submit structural calculations and drawings to BCA for regulatory approval through the Construction and Real Estate Network (CORENET).
Upon receiving BCA’s approval, your BCA approved window contractor can submit BCA’s ‘Permit to Commence Structural Work’ along with the approved drawings to HDB to obtain a renovation permit. Once the permit is issued replacement work can begin.
The replacement will have to comply with HDB’s original windows:
- Colour scheme
- Window type (i.e. casement to casement, sliding to sliding)
