If you book a flat from the March 2012 sales exercise onwards and subsequently cancel the flat booking, you will have to meet a one-year period from the date of cancellation before you can apply or be included as an essential occupier for a resale flat with CPF Housing Grant.

Ali is a single Singapore Citizen aged 40. His monthly salary is $2,800. He is buying a 3-room HDB resale flat under the Single Singapore Citizen Scheme.

The undertaking for applicants/occupiers to affirm their average gross monthly income will be sent to applicants via email (if required).

The EHG (Singles) amount is based on the average gross monthly household income for the months worked in a 12-month period prior to the date of your resale application. The incomes of all working persons in the household (i.e. applicants and occupiers) are included in the assessment. Applicants with lower household incomes will receive a larger grant amount. See examples below.
20 years or more
Flat must have sufficient lease to cover the youngest buyer to the age of 95 to qualify for the full EHG. Otherwise, the EHG will be pro-rated.

As eligibility for the EHG is based on 12 months of employment, these are the income guidelines when applying for this grant. Aside from these mentioned documents, we may also request other documents for verification, if needed.

Ms J (single, SC) is a first-timer aged above 35. She submitted her resale application to buy a 3-room flat in Punggol under the Single Singapore Citizen (SSC) Scheme in end September 2019. She has been working for the past 12 months, drawing an average gross monthly income of $2,000.
Ms J is eligible for the Singles Grant, and will be given $27,500 of EHG.
Mr K (single, SC) is a first-timer aged above 35. He submitted his resale application to buy a 3-room flat in Punggol under the Single Singapore Citizen (SSC) Scheme in end September 2019. Mr K is eligible for the Singles Grant.
Mr K was not working between Sep 2018 and Mar 2019. Nevertheless, he has been working since Apr 2019, drawing an average gross monthly income of $2,000.
Mr K is not eligible for the EHG (Singles) as he has not worked continuously for a 12-month period prior to his flat application.
