The Housing & Development Board (HDB) launched the My Nice Home Gallery(温馨 我家) at HDB Hub on 28 Jan 2015. The launch was officiated by Minister for National Development, Mr Khaw Boon Wan.
2 As the master planner and largest developer of housing in Singapore, HDB continually seeks out new ideas and carries out research and development, to ensure that the design of HDB homes stay relevant to the changing needs of Singaporeans. This is evident through the many new design features introduced over the decades, some of which are found in the new generation of public housing to be completed in Punggol Waterway and Dawson this year. Beyond the broader town planning, HDB also devotes much attention to designing the interior layout of new flats, to give flat owners greater flexibility in transforming their flats into a home that suits their individual lifestyles.
3 HDB CEO, Dr Cheong Koon Hean said, “The HDB flat today is more than just a roof over the heads of Singaporeans – it is a home that they look forward to coming back to at the end of each day. To help make that HDB home the best home possible, we continually strive to refine the designs of our flats, so that they keep pace with the changing demographic and lifestyle trends of Singaporeans. As a further step to help our homebuyers transform their flats into a cosy home, we have also been providing our flat buyers with home-buying and décor tips through our HDB InfoWEB and MyNiceHome website. This latest My Nice Home Gallery is part of our continued efforts to help them realise their dream home.”
Brand New Showflats - Home, Sweet Home
4 To showcase the latest in HDB flat designs, interior design ideas and renovation tips, HDB has revamped its previous showflat space, formerly known as The Habitat Forum, into a brand new My Nice Home Gallery (温馨 我家), featuring five fully furnished HDB showflats – Studio Apartment (SA), 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-room units. This is the first time that showflats are available for all five flat types. Eco-friendly features and elderly-friendly fittings have also been included in the new flats for the first time.
5 With more than 75,000 new flats to be completed from 2015 to 2017, flat buyers looking forward to receiving the keys to their dream homes, can visit the My Nice Home Gallery for design and renovation ideas.
6 Designed in collaboration with interior designers and furniture manufacturers, the showflats feature creative design and furnishing ideas that offer home owners greater choice and flexibility in customising their flat to suit their lifestyle. The HDB-industry collaboration also enables the home furnishing and interior design industry to have a deeper appreciation of the latest designs and layout of HDB flats, and the type of furniture that would optimize the design features of the flat.

Of these entries, 15 homes have been selected based on their design theme, as well as the creativity and cohesiveness of their design.
