This press release provides the data for the HDB resale and rental market in 3rd Quarter 2017.
HDB Resale Market
2 The Resale Price Index (RPI) fell by 0.7%, from 133.7 in 2nd Quarter 2017 to 132.8 in 3rd Quarter 2017 (see Annex A).
3 Resale transactions fell by 3.2%, from 6,001 cases in 2nd Quarter 2017 to 5,808 cases in 3rd Quarter 2017 (see Annex B). Compared to 3rd Quarter 2016, resale transactions in 3rd Quarter 2017 were 5.3% higher.
4 The median resale prices in the various towns in 3rd Quarter 2017 are tabulated in Annex C.
HDB Rental Market
5 The median subletting rents in the various towns in 3rd Quarter 2017 are tabulated in Annex D.
6 The number of applications approved for subletting of HDB flats fell by 2.1%, from 10,929 cases in 2nd Quarter 2017 to 10,698 cases in 3rd Quarter 2017 (see Annex E). Compared to 3rd Quarter 2016, approved sublet applications in 3rd Quarter 2017 were 0.8% lower. As at 30 Sep 2017, there were 53,445 HDB flats being sublet, a decrease of 0.2% over 2nd Quarter 2017 (53,540 units).
Upcoming Sales Launch
7 HDB will offer about 4,800 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Geylang, Punggol, Sengkang and Tampines in the November 2017 BTO exercise. This will bring the total BTO flat supply for 2017 to about 17,500 units. More information on the BTO flats is available on the HDB InfoWEB. There will also be a concurrent Sale of Balance Flats exercise.
