Town & Community Plazas
A communal space for all to enjoy
There are several spaces around HDB estates for residents to come together and mingle, such as town and community plazas.
In 2016, HDB introduced the first new-generation town plaza in Bedok, followed by plazas in Punggol, Yishun, and Woodlands. Each of these new plazas comes with:
- A part-sheltered, part-al-fresco event space
- Food & Beverage outlets
- Power and water points
Together with our community partners, we regularly organise a variety of events at the plazas such as community arts and cultural activities, or food and music events. You can participate with friends and neighbours, or just soak in the lively atmosphere.
Let’s Play, a series of fun and exciting events, is coming back in November and December 2019! We invite residents of all ages to come together at the Town and Community Plazas to indulge in the joy of play. With exciting activities such as carousel, bouncy castle, community-led workshops and snack stalls, there is something for everyone.

Bedok Town Square
Under HDB’s Remaking Our Heartland programme, Bedok Town Centre is now a vibrant new hub with a major shopping mall, integrated transport interchange, and a new hawker centre.
The new town plaza at Bedok is a cornerstone of the redevelopment of Bedok Town Centre as it connects the various facilities at the Town Centre.
Here, a local Activation Team actively looks into its programming - first for a town plaza. Some 1,000 Bedok residents shared their wishes for the plaza in a community visioning exercise, such as outdoor movie screenings, mass yoga classes, and performances. The Bedok community also collectively voted for the town plaza to be named as, ‘Bedok Town Square’.

Punggol Town Square
Overlooking the beautiful My Waterway@Punggol, Punggol Town Square is the second new-generation town plaza completed by HDB, after Bedok Town Square. Well-integrated with transport facilities such as the Punggol MRT station, and with shopping, dining, and other facilities at Waterway Point, the town square is an ideal place for the community to come together to strengthen community ties. Every resident can play a part in contributing to Punggol’s vibrancy by participating in the activities at the square.
Also located in the town square is the Punggol Discovery Cube - the first visitor centre in an HDB town. It showcases the evolution and development of Singapore’s first Eco-Town.
This is also the second town plaza with a local Activation Team that actively looks into its programming. Some 300 Punggol residents shared their aspirations and hopes for the plaza in a community visioning exercise held in November 2016. Popular suggestions included mass workouts, outdoor concerts, temporary play structures for children, and eco-related craft workshops.

Kampung Admiralty Community Plaza
Yishun Town Square
Following Bedok and Punggol Town Squares, Yishun Town Square is the third new-generation town plaza completed by HDB.
A conducive space for the community to gather and bond, Yishun residents can look forward to a variety of events such as fitness clinics, performances, and community activities held at the Town Square.
Residents will also be able to enjoy a wide range of dining options, with food and beverage outlets located within the Town Square, along with numerous dining options in the neighbouring Northpoint City and Yishun Town Centre.
The local Activation team is actively looking into the programming for Yishun Town Square. More than 200 Yishun residents shared their aspirations and hopes for the plaza in the community visioning exercise held in January 2018. Popular suggestions included mass workouts, inflatable playgrounds, and live band performances.
