Programme objectives

The Young Energy Saver programme is a fun activity-based way for primary school students to learn about the importance of energy efficiency. In addition, the programme equips students with good knowledge in energy saving, which they can share with their family, friends, and neighbours to promote greater environmental awareness and responsibility.

About Young Energy Saver Card

In collaboration with the Science Centre Singapore, the Young Energy Saver card was added to the Young Scientist Badge scheme in April 2012.
The Young Scientist Badge Scheme was introduced in 1982 to provide students with an opportunity to broaden their horizons through self-directed learning activities. Many still remember it fondly, and it has long been a favourite among Singapore’s youth.
Supported by the Ministry of Education, the scheme is jointly organised by:
  • Science Centre Singapore
  • Science Teachers Association of Singapore
  • Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science
  • Singapore National Academy of Science
