Release of 2nd Quarter 2019 Public Housing Data
This press release provides the data for the HDB resale and rental market in 2nd Quarter 2019.
2 The Resale Price Index (RPI) fell by 0.2%, from 131.0 in 1st Quarter 2019 to 130.8 in 2nd Quarter 2019 (see Annex A).
3 Resale transactions rose by 29.8%, from 4,835 cases in 1st Quarter 2019 to 6,276 cases in 2nd Quarter 2019 (see Annex B). Compared to 2nd Quarter 2018, resale transactions in 2nd Quarter 2019 were 5.6% higher.
4 The median resale prices in the various towns in 2nd Quarter 2019 are tabulated in Annex C.
5 The median rents in the various towns in 2nd Quarter 2019 are tabulated in Annex D.
6 The number of approved applications to rent out HDB flats rose by 4.8%, from 11,775 cases in 1st Quarter 2019 to 12,335 cases in 2nd Quarter 2019 (see Annex E). Compared to 2nd Quarter 2018, the number of approved applications to rent out HDB flats in 2nd Quarter 2019 was 2.6% higher. As at 30 Jun 2019, there were 58,528 HDB flats rented out, an increase of 1.3% over 1st Quarter 2019 (57,764 units).
7 HDB will offer about 3,300 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Punggol and Tampines in August 2019 and about 4,500 BTO flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah in November 2019. More information on these BTO flats is available on the HDB InfoWEB. There will also be a concurrent Re-Offer of Balance Flats (ROF) exercise and Sale of Balance Flats exercise in August and November 2019 respectively.
8 Meanwhile, unselected ROF flats are available for open booking by eligible home buyers throughout the year. The details are available on the HDB InfoWEB.
