Release of 1st Quarter 2016 Public Housing Data
This press release provides the data for the HDB resale and rental market in 1st Quarter 2016.
2 The Resale Price Index (RPI) fell by 0.1%, from 134.8 in 4th Quarter 2015 to 134.7 in 1st Quarter 2016 (see Annex A).
3 Resale transactions decreased by 10.9%, from 4,992 cases in 4th Quarter 2015 to 4,449 cases in 1st Quarter 2016 (see Annex B).
4 The median resale prices in the various towns are tabulated in Annex C.
5 The median subletting rents in the various towns in 1st Quarter 2016 are tabulated in Annex D.
6 The number of applications approved for subletting of HDB flat increased by 5.8%, from 10,618 cases in 4th Quarter 2015 to 11,239 cases in 1st Quarter 2016 (see Annex E). As at 31 Mar 2016, 51,052 HDB flats were sublet, an increase of 1.6% over 4th Quarter 2015 (50,264 units).
7 HDB had offered 4,170 flats for sale under the Feb 2016 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise. In the upcoming May 2016 sales exercise, HDB will offer about 4,000 BTO flats and about 5,000 balance flats. More details will be available on the HDB InfoWEB closer to the launch of the sale exercise.
