HDB apartment blocks completed on or after 01 Jan 1994 and flats upgraded under the Main Upgrading Programme (MUP) are provided with a higher electrical loading of 40 amps main switch. Flat owners do not need to apply for an HDB permit to install an air-conditioner or other higher capacity equipment/appliances if the flat is provided with higher electrical loading.

Flats that have not been provided with higher electrical loading, require an HDB permit to install new 15 Amps power points for air-conditioners or other higher capacity equipment/appliances.
New 15 amps power point/20 amps isolator

| Alteration/extension of existing TV points |
- The original TV points provided are not to be tampered with and must be accessible for future maintenance
- Any alteration and extension of the original TV points are to be carried out by a licensed StarHub Cable Vision (SCV) installer
- SCV may refuse to connect the unit's altered/modified TV points to their network if the work was carried out by an unlicensed installer
