Under the lease, you are responsible for maintaining the interior of your flat, including fixtures and fittings installed. Fixtures and fittings such as pipes, water taps, cisterns, hinges, switches will naturally wear over time and repairs are necessary.

In case you are unable to carry out the repairs on your own or need help to engage the services of a repair contractor, you can look up the HDB list of minor repair contractors, as well as the rates chargeable for common minor repair works. For window repair works, you may refer to the list of BCA Approved Window Contractors.


The engagement of the repair contractor is strictly on a private basis between you and the contractor. Before you proceed, please read the conditions for the engagement of the contractors first.

a	The list of repair contractors from HDB serves as a guide for flat owners who need help to engage a contractor. It is not meant to be exhaustive or an endorsement of the contractor’s performance. Flat owners may wish to consult other sources such as the Yellow Pages and check for other contractors or service providers.
b	Flat owners who wish to engage any of the repair contractors from the list will have to negotiate the price and extent of the work with the contractors on a private basis. HDB is not privy to this private engagement.
c	Flat owners are to ensure that the contractors they engage exercise due care and diligence when carrying out the necessary repair work.
d	The rates quoted for the items listed in the above Tables are only for services provided during office hours, ie from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays, and from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays. If residents require these services during Sundays, public holidays or after office hours, they can negotiate the rates with the contractor on a private basis. However, the rates are expected to be higher than those listed in the Tables.
e	The rates quoted are inclusive of transportation charge and GST. The repair contractors have indicated that they will provide a 6-month warranty period for works involving installation of new parts/products/materials.
f	In the event that the flat owners decide not to carry out the repair work after the contractor has attended to a site inspection [at the owners' request], they are required to pay a transportation fee of $10 to the contractor if the inspection is carried out during office hours. Flat owners are advised to negotiate with the contractors on the amount of transportation charges they will have to pay for inspections carried out after office hours.
g	Payment has to be made directly to the contractor upon completion of the work. Flat owners are advised to check the work before making payment. Upon payment, the contractor will issue an official receipt.
h	All services rendered and payments made are strictly viewed as private arrangements between the flat owners and the contractors. HDB assumes no responsibility or liability for the workmanship, materials replaced or any other unsatisfactory service by the contractor.
