The Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme allows a citizen with a non-citizen spouse who is neither a Singapore Citizen nor a Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR)
to buy an HDB flat from the open market. Y
ou must meet the following eligibility conditions:
|Citizenship||You must be a Singapore Citizen.|
|Age||If you are aged 21 years or above|
Your spouse must have a Long Term Visit Pass or Work Pass. The pass must have a validity period of at least 6 months and it must be valid at the time you submit your application to buy a resale flat.
If you are aged 35 years or above
Your spouse must have a Visit Pass or Work Pass. The pass may have a validity period of less than 6 months, however, it must be valid at the time you submit your application to buy a resale flat.
If the Visit Pass or Work Pass expires during transaction to buy a resale flat, you must produce the renewed Visit Pass or Work Pass on the completion date of the transaction.
|Family Nucleus||You must list your non-citizen spouse as an occupier in the application|
|Income Ceiling||There is no income ceiling unless you are applying for CPF Housing Grant or an HDB Loan.|
|Ownership/Interest in Property in Singapore or Overseas other than HDB flats||If you or any person listed in your resale flat application owns private residential property (locally or overseas), you may still buy a resale flat without any CPF housing grant or HDB loan but you must dispose of the private property within six months of the purchase of the resale flat.|
|Ethnic Integration Policy and SPR Quota||Proportion of your ethnic group and SPR quota (if applicable) has not reached the set limit. Find out more about the Ethnic Integration Policy (EIP) and SPR Quota.|
Under the Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme, you may apply for the CPF Housing Grant for Singles
if you meet all the eligibility conditions.
