Eligibility To Buy : Joint Singles Scheme
 

The Joint Singles Scheme allows 2 to 4 single citizens to jointly buy an HDB flat from the open market.

To buy a resale flat under the Joint Singles Scheme, you and your co-applicant(s) must meet the following eligibility conditions:

Detailed Description
CitizenshipYou must be Singapore Citizens.
Age
Unmarried or Divorcées

You must be at least 35 years old (based on date of birth) when submitting your resale flat application.


Widowed Persons or Orphans*

You must be at least 21 years old.

*An orphan buying a resale flat on his/her own must not have another sibling who is below 35 years old and buying a flat separately under the:
  • Orphans Scheme,
  • Single Singapore Citizen Scheme, or
  • Joint Singles Scheme
Special ConditionYou must buy the flat jointly as co-applicants.
Income CeilingThere is no income ceiling unless you are applying for CPF Housing Grant and/or an HDB Loan.
Ownership of Private Residential Property
You(applicant) and all the co-applicants can own private property (unless you are applying for a CPF Housing Grant and/or HDB loan). However, you must live in the HDB resale flat.
Ethnic Integration Policy and SPR QuotaProportion of your ethnic group and SPR quota (if applicable) has not reached the limit. Find out more about the Ethnic Integration Policy (EIP) and SPR Quota.


CPF Housing Grant

Under the Joint Singles Scheme, if you are 35 years old and above, you may apply for the following CPF Housing Grant if you meet all the eligibility conditions:
