CPF Housing Grant for Singles
 
You may be eligible for the CPF Housing Grant for Singles when buying an HDB flat for the first time and have not enjoyed a housing subsidy before if you are:
  • a single Singapore citizen or
  • a married Singapore citizen with a non-citizen spouse

Detailed Description
CitizenshipYou are a Singapore Citizen (SC).
Age35 years old and above


21 years old and above
  • Married to a non-citizen spouse who is holding a social visit pass (including work permit) of at least 6 months’ validity
  • Buying a resale flat under Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme
Income CeilingGross Monthly Household Income must be $3,000 and below if:
OR

Gross Monthly Household Income must be $8,000 and below if: There is no flat type restriction for this group of grant applicants.
Special ConditionsFor the higher-tier Singles Grant, the parents must be included in the application as the co-applicants or occupants. One parent must at least be a Singapore Permanent Resident.
Ownership/Interest in PropertyYou(applicant), co-applicants and all persons listed in the application for purchase of the flat must not
  • Own any of the following (local or overseas properties) or have disposed of one within 30 months prior to the application:
    - Private residential property (including HUDC flat, Executive Condominium)
    - House
    - Building
    - Land
  • Be buying a 1-room flat or a resale flat (of any flat type) that has been announced for redevelopment under the Selective Enbloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS).
Undischarged BankruptYou/your co-applicants must not be undischarged bankrupts.



Amount of CPF Housing Grant for Singles

Each resale flat purchase may get up to a maximum of 2 Singles Grants.

  • Meant for Joint Singles Scheme flat buyers who included parents as co-applicant or occupants. At least 1 parent should be a Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR).
  • For resale application received by HDB on or after 1 Apr 2008.

For siblings buying a resale flat under Joint Singles Scheme , the grant amount is $20,000 for one sibling and $11,000 for the other.


Listed below are some examples of the amount of grant given.

Example 1

Ali is a Single Citizen aged 40 years old. His monthly salary is $2,800. He is buying a 3-room resale HDB flat to live on his own under Single Singapore Citizen Scheme.

Amount of Singles Grant Ali can get is $11,000.

Example 2

Wing Yong (37 years old, with monthly salary of $2,400), Heng Chong (35 years old, with monthly salary of $3,000) and Song Meng (36 years old, with monthly salary of $2,500) are single Singapore Citizen. They are childhood friends. They want to jointly buy a resale flat under Joint Singles Scheme.

Amount of Singles grant they can get is $22,000.

Example 3

Kent is 28 years old. He is a Singapore Citizen with $5,000 monthly salary. He married Sally who is an Australian holding a social visit pass valid for 1 year. Sally is a housewife with no income. They are buying a resale flat under Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.

Amount of Singles grant they can get is $11,000.

Example 4

Deva (45 years old, with monthly salary of $3,000) and Desu (38 years old, with monthly salary of $4,500) are brothers. They are Singapore Citizens and still single. They want to buy a resale flat to stay with their old parents. They are buying the flat under Joint Singles Scheme.

Amount of Singles grant they can get is $31,000 ($20,000 + $11,000).
