CPF Housing Grant for Family
 

When buying an HDB resale flat, you may be eligible for a CPF Housing Grant if you and your spouse:
    • Are buying a HDB flat for the first time, and
    • Have not previously enjoyed a housing subsidy

The CPF Housing Grant is a housing subsidy (in the form of CPF monies) provided by the Government. The grant assists eligible first-timer citizen households to buy a resale flat from the open market.


Besides the Family Grant, you can also apply for Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG) of between$5,000 and $40,000 if you fulfil the eligibility conditions of the grant.



Eligibility Conditions

You may apply for the CPF Housing Grant for Family if you meet the eligibility conditions listed below.

Criteria
Detailed Description
CitizenshipYou are a Singapore Citizen. Your family nucleus must comprise of at least another Singapore Permanent Resident or Singapore Citizen.


AgeYou must be at least 21 years old.
Family NucleusYou are applying with your:
  • Spouse and children (if any), or
  • Fiancé/fiancée (must be able to produce your marriage certificate, latest by the date of resale completion), or
  • Children under your legal custody, care and control (if widowed or divorced)
Income CeilingYour gross monthly household income must not exceed $8,000*.

If applying with extended family, gross monthly household income must not exceed $12,000*.

*If your average monthly household income over the last 1 year is $5,000 and below, you can also apply for the Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG) in addition to Family Grant.
Ownership/Interest in PropertyYou(applicant), co-applicants and all persons listed in the application for purchase of the flat must not
  • Own any of the following (local or overseas properties) or have disposed of one within 30 months prior to the application:
    - Private residential property (including HUDC flat, Executive Condominium)
    - House
    - Building
    - Land
  • Be buying a 1-room flat or a resale flat (of any flat type) that has been announced for redevelopment under the Selective Enbloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS).
Undischarged BankruptYou/your co-applicants must not be undischarged bankrupts.

If you are from an SC/SPR household, you can enjoy the full housing subsidy by applying for the Citizen Top-Up when your SPR family member takes up Singapore Citizenship or when you have a SC child.
