HDB Launches Sale Of Site At Tampines Avenue 5 / Central 8 By Tender Under Design, Build And Sell Scheme (DBSS)

 The Housing and Development Board is launching land parcel Tampines PH2, located at Tampines Avenue 5 / Central 8 for sale by public tender under the Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) on 23 Jun 2010 (Wednesday). The tender will close at 12 noon on 3 Aug 2010 (Tuesday).


Details of DBSS Site

2The site is located in Tampines, adjacent to the first DBSS project, The Premiere@Tampines. Tampines is a choice residential town with a well-developed regional centre serving a wide resident base in the eastern part of Singapore. Land parcel Tampines PH2 is a short distance away from the Tampines Town Centre, Tampines MRT station and bus interchange (see Annex A for location map). The myriad of shopping, entertainment and dining destinations nearby include Century Square, Tampines Mall and Eastlink Mall. Within the town, there are also other retail choices like Giant Hypermart, Ikea Tampines and Courts Megastore. A host of well-established primary and secondary schools as well as tertiary institutions in the town offer varied education options, such as Tampines Primary School, Tampines Secondary School, Tampines Junior College, Temasek Polytechnic and ITE College Central. 3The main terms and conditions for the tender of Tampines PH2 are available in the Tender Packets and the HDB Infoweb Tender Packets can be purchased at $105/- each (inclusive of GST) at The Procurement Office, Basement 1 HDB Hub, 480 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Singapore 310480, during office hours from 23 June 2010.


Information on DBSS

4Under DBSS, the developer tenders for the land and enjoys flexibility in designing, pricing and selling the flats subject to the relevant legislation and rules to preserve the character of public housing. Upon completion of the building, the developer will hand over the entire development site to HDB for lease administration, and to the Town Council for maintenance of the common areas.


5Flats sold under DBSS come with a 99-year lease and will be offered to buyers under similar HDB eligibility conditions. 95% of the flat supply for public applicants will be set aside for sale to first-timers.


6HDB will share its technical experience and best building practices with the Successful Tenderer to facilitate the DBSS development. HDB will also provide the Successful Tenderer with training and support to screen buyers’ eligibility, as well as prepare application forms and documents for the sales launch.


Upcoming DBSS Sites for Sale

7HDB will release another 2 DBSS sites for tender in the second half of 2010. They are land parcels Bedok PH1 at Bedok Reservoir Crescent and Hougang PH2 at Upper Serangoon Road, with a combined estimated yield of 1,010 units. More sites for DBSS development will be made available if there is sustained demand.
