Flash Estimate of 4th Quarter 2009 Resale Price Index

HDB’s flash estimate of the 4th Quarter 2009 Resale Price Index (RPI) is 150.7, an increase of 3.8% over 3rd Quarter 2009. The historical RPI series is at Annexes A-1 (15KB) and A-2 (15KB).
2 The Resale Price Index provides information on the general price movements in the public residential market. 3 The RPI for the full quarter and more detailed public housing data for 4th Quarter 2009 will be released on 22 January 2010.
4 Flat buyers can look forward to 1,300 BTO flats in Choa Chu Kang and Hougang, which will be offered for sale tomorrow (5 January 2010). HDB will continue to launch more BTO projects in 2010 if there is sustained demand for new flats, and will ensure that there is an adequate supply of flats to meet prevailing housing needs.
