Living With/ Near Parents or Married Child

The Proximity Housing Grant (PHG) of $20,000 has been introduced to further help families who want to buy a resale flat, to live in with or near their parents/ married child. Eligible singles will also enjoy a PHG of $10,000 if they buy a resale flat with their parents.

Eligibility

Citizenship
  • You are a Singapore Citizen. At least one of your parents or married child must be a Singapore Permanent Resident or a Singapore Citizen.
  • Family

Your family nucleus must comprise at least another Singapore Permanent Resident or a Singapore Citizen.

Age
  • Family

You must be aged 21 years or above.

  • Singles

You must be aged:

  • 35 years or above, if you are single and applying for resale flat under any of the following schemes:
    • Single Singapore Citizen Scheme
    • Joint Singles Scheme
    • Public Scheme (if parents are included in the resale application as co-applicants or occupants)

or

  • 21 years or above, if you are married and applying for resale flat under the Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme
Family Nucleus
  • Family

You are applying with your:

  • spouse and children (if any), or
  • fiancé/ fiancée (must be able to produce your marriage certificate, latest by the date of completion of the flat purchase), or
  • children under your legal custody, care and control (if widowed or divorced)
  • Singles

You are applying under any of the following schemes:

  • Single Singapore Citizen Scheme
  • Joint Singles Scheme
  • Public Scheme
  • Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme 
Household Status

You have not received the PHG previously.

Proximity Condition
  • Family

Your parents/ married child are:

  • living with you in the resale flat
  • living in an HDB flat in the same town or within 2km
  • owner-occupants of private property in the same town or within 2km
  • Singles

Your parents are living with you in the resale flat.

Distance enquiry check

Use our Distance Enquiry for Proximity Housing Grant e-Service to check whether the HDB resale flat you intend to buy is in the same town or within 2km of your parents’/ married child’s HDB flat or owner-occupied private residential property.
